Larry Roberts serves as chief operating officer of the Free Methodist Church – USA. Prior to assuming this role in 2012, Roberts served on the FMCUSA Board of Administration for 17 years and was chairman of the board during the final nine years.
Before joining the Free Methodist leadership team, Roberts spent over 40 years in broadcasting. For 13 years, he was president and CEO of Sunbrook Communications, which owned radio stations in multiple markets in the Pacific Northwest. In 1995, he sold that company to publicly traded Fisher Communications and remained with Fisher for the next 16 years as president of its 24-station Radio Regional Group. During his final five years with Fisher, he was also regional vice president of the parent company, Fisher Communications, and oversaw the operations of 10 television stations, mostly CBS.
Roberts retired from Fisher in 2011 to pastor a Free Methodist church in Boise, Idaho, which he did until assuming the role of COO of the denomination the following year. During that time, Roberts also purchased three NBC television stations in Oregon that he still owns.
Roberts and his wife, Sheryl, have three grown children and ten grandchildren.
