Two fellowships have been established in Hungary—one in Győr and another in Budapest. Péter Tóth and Ildikó Kóber serve as assistant pastors of the Budapest fellowship, working alongside missionary Larry Winckles. The fellowship reaches out to the community through a number of events and services, including a weekly English class, women’s events, men’s events, a music kindergarten and weekly recovery groups. The Győr congregation, led by Gerry and Kati McNamara, focuses on home group meetings, service to the poor, and ministry to orphans. Their daughter, Zsuzsa, has entered the ordination process as a local ministerial candidate.
A Life Skills Training Program is being developed in Budapest, in cooperation with the Set Free Movement, in order to provide employment and life skills for the unemployed, underemployed, and those desiring to reenter society. Ildikó Kóber leads this work.
