FMC IN IRELAND
The church meets on Sundays in rented facilities and has congregants that travel each weekend from Dublin and Cavan. There is great potential for establishing congregations in those cities in the future.
Abwe Mulonda from the Democratic Republic of the Congo began the ordination process with the Free Methodist Church while in a refugee camp in Tanzania. He and several other Congolese refugee families entered a relocation program sponsored by the Republic of Ireland and immigrated to several cities there. Abwe made contact with the Free Methodist Church in Europe, asking to establish the Free Methodist Church in Monaghan. After an onsite visit and the vetting of his credentials, he was received as a Conference Ministerial Candidate by the FMC in Europe in November 2015. Ongoing supervision of the work in the Republic of Ireland will take place through the UK Conference.
