Eduardo & Cindi Angelo – International Missionaries

Three well-established churches meet in the Lisbon suburbs while a fourth plant isstarting strong. Patricia Souza pastors the Tapada das Mercês-Sintra church.  Cida Matos pastors two churches: Charneca de Caparica and Santa Marta do Pinhal, an African majority church which was opened October 2007. Eduardo and Cindi Angelo focus on planting pioneer churches and reaching the lost, then training and releasing them to be leaders. The churches have seen tremendous convert growth in recent years. They regularly sponsor worship and missionary conferences that serve to build up the body of Christ. These congregations are also known for their excellent music ministry. Through a partnership with the Food Bank Against Hunger, more than 60 families receive food each week. A school for leaders was established to train and form church planters and pastors.

The work has not been without challenges. Much of Portugal is resistant to the gospel. Idolatry, witchcraft and magic are the number one evidence of the paganism present in this nation. Yet Portugal, along with Spain, became an official FM missions district in 2004.
