Fifteen days until we begin our journey!!
If you are like me you may have a lot of tasks to complete and people yet to before you leave for Orlando. Find time for rest and take good care of yourself. Starting a trip like this on little sleep and full of stress will bring physical, social, mental, emotional and spiritual challenges you don’t need or want. Are you getting excited? Are you starting to think about strategic packing in your carry-on? Are you praying for you, the trip, the leaders, your teammates, the people of your destination? Are you spending time with God and keeping your eyes on Jesus who goes before us, behind us and with us?
As promised I am now sending you a weekly email. At the beginning I am listing two new items and the balance are repeats you may find useful as we move on to the homestretch. Don’t hesitate to reach out to me or the other contacts listed below should you need more information. We want you to be equipped.

We’re hoping that each group of 10 or so people will have one person assigned to take pictures and videos of your trip. Nothing fancy. Smart phones will be fine. When you return to the Caribe hotel in Orlando, we’re going to ask for the 3- or 4-best pictures from each group. And if you have a super :15-second video shot, we’d like that, too. And if you have access to cell service from your mission field, we’d appreciate your group sending us your “best” picture each day. Some of these will be used in a photo montage that will be shown in the evening services of General Conference. Please be thinking about whether you’d like to be a videographer or photographer for your group! Each group will be asked to tell us the name of their official “scribe” on Thursday, July 9th, before you leave Caribe.

or flying and need a ride from the airport to the hotel?
IF YOU NEED A RIDE FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE CARIBE HOTEL tell us yesterday (aka ASAP) what time (and day) your flight arrives in Orlando and the day and time it departs from Orlando.
For your information, included in the cost of your registration is insurance while you are on your mission trip. This includes both medical coverage and evacuation coverage in case you are seriously injured or ill and need to be flown back to the United States.

LAST CALL: PASSPORTS – Pull your passport out and double check the expiration date. No surprise at the airport is a good thing.
REMINDER: Be sure your passport is not expiring within 6 months after the date of your departure to any of our international destinations. If it expires before January 10, 2016 please get it renewed now. If it needs renewal you can still expedite the process for extra money. Don’t wait to check this.

For those of you travelling outside the United States, check the below links for any further information you may need on your destination . . .
Participants should be in good physical and emotional health able to handle strenuous walking, un-level ground, carrying their own suitcase, and living without “typical” comforts of home (air-conditioning, warm shower, clean bathroom, favorite foods). Participants should demonstrate a willingness to get along with others and contribute to team goals.
Participants should consult their family physician regarding immunizations. We recommend referring to the Centers for Disease Control website for further information.
*PASSPORTS (Yes I’m repeating this one again. If you forget everything else at least have a valid passport!!!)
All participants traveling internationally need a valid passport. It takes 6-8 weeks to get a passport for the first time so you are too late to take this option. Check into options for expediting. For those who presently have passports be sure to check it does not expire within six months after the date of the trip. Travel may be prohibited in this setting.
