Position Description/Responsibilities: Roberts Wesleyan College is seeking candidates for the position of Campus Pastor with a targeted start date of July 1, 2018. The successful candidate will champion and foster co-curricular spiritual formation endeavors across the campus to bring students closer to discovery, growth and maturity in their faith. In addition, the Campus Pastor provides inspiration and resources to faculty and staff, recognizing that these campus leaders foster Christian faith among students; both formally and informally. Primary responsibilities include representing the Christian commitments of the College and Seminary across departments, programs, and campus communities, especially concerning societal issues that may challenge norms within Christian Higher Education;; overseeing and participating in dynamic Chapel programming; facilitating the process of students finding and entering into church communities for regular worship and discipleship; and providing one-on-one pastoral counseling to students. This full-time, 10-month position is appointed by the President and reports to the VP for Student and Organizational Development.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will have a master’s degree and be seminary-trained, ordained or eligible for ordination within the Free Methodist Church or the Wesleyan-holiness tradition, thus possessing and demonstrating an understanding of the Wesleyan tradition, as well as the broader evangelical church. Additional qualifications include previous experience in a preaching ministry and exceptional public presence; ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with faculty, staff and students, including the ability to minister effectively with students from a variety of racial and ethnic populations; understanding of the unique mission of Christian higher education; demonstrated effectiveness in spiritual formation of college aged students; ministering to young adults amidst cultural and demographic change; and previous experience creating, organizing and administering programs.
