AFRICA

Malawi: Praise God for Pastor Milanzi, a recent graduate of the Great Commission Bible School. He and three assistants lead seven churches in Malawi and one bordering Mozambique. Pray for the expanding ministry in this area.

ASIA

Philippines: FM work in the Philippines, under the leadership of Rev. Jim Tuan, became a general conference in 2003. The churches have an aggressive plan of outreach. Established churches support and nurture new congregations, called satellite churches, until they are organized. Pray for further growth and pray for the Philippine missionaries serving in Hong Kong, Cambodia, Australia, Pakistan and among tribal groups in the Philippines.

EUROPE

Bulgaria: Countries following the Orthodox calendar, including Bulgaria, just celebrated Easter. Al and Diane Mellinger report the special service held in Petrich had the largest attendance of any event – 32 people. Every regularly attending family had a guest or two with them. Pray the message they heard will lead these guests to ask questions about a personal relationship with Jesus.

LATIN AMERICA

Ecuador: Pray for a new church planting initiative in Guayaquil, the largest city in Ecuador. This initiative is now in the planning stages with the Free Methodist Church in Puerto Rico and Colombia.

SEED LIVELIHOOD

Annual conference season is a busy time for SEED. Pray for Directors David and Rose Brewer, Operations Manager Tasha Pryor, and conference SEED champions to effectively communicate SEED’s vision for local livelihoods through global partnerships. Especially pray for churches who have never had a connection with SEED to be intrigued enough to connect for 2013-14.

GLOBAL DAY OF PRAYER

On May 19 – Global Day of Prayer – believers in many countries of the world will lift expectant praise and prayer with one voice. What began in 2000 as the vision of South African businessman Graham Power has grown to involve millions of Christians from a vast majority of the world’s countries. This day of prayer coincides with Pentecost Sunday – the birthday of the Church as recorded in Acts 1-2.

Jenny Switkes, Minister of Prayer at Brookside FMC, Redlands, CA, prepared this year’s resource materials for FM World Missions with the belief that your congregation will change the world and be changed by God through prayer.
