The Bishops Search Committee has completed its prayerful consideration of Free Methodist Church USA elders to determine qualified nominees to succeed retiring Bishop Kenny Martin. The committee submitted its recommendations to the FMCUSA Board of Administration, which has unanimously received the following slate of bishop nominees:

Ricardo Gómez, the Latin America area director for Free Methodist World Missions.
Mike Chong Perkinson, the superintendent of the Pacific Coast Japanese Conference.
Fraser Venter, the FMCUSA’s strategic catalyst for love-driven justice.

The FMCUSA is extremely grateful for the faithful service of Bishop Kenny and Rev. Estelle Martin to our denomination, and we pray for continued blessings in this new season of their fruitful service to the Lord. We also call the church to pray for the Holy Spirit’s guidance as General Conference 2023 delegates reconvene online at 8 p.m. (EDT) Tuesday, March 17, 2026, to elect our next bishop who will serve alongside Bishops Keith Cowart and Kaye Kolde on the FMCUSA Board of Bishops.
