Choose this option for giving when you would like to designate where the funds are used. While this is an attractive option for donors, please give with the following understanding.
- First, your gift will be delayed in responding to the crisis. When a crisis is brought to the attention of our bishops, the goal is to respond immediately. When we ask for a specific appeal and wait upon designated funds, this greatly reduces our ability to act in the moment.
- Second, once the specified need is met, the funds given may be shifted to other needs at the discretion of the bishops.
For these reasons, you may want to consider giving where needed most.

Give where needed most
As needs arise, the bishops of the FMCUSA receive requests for aid that require immediate attention. The ongoing purpose of the Bishops’ Crisis Response Fund is to be funded and ready for when needs arise. This is the most agile and responsible way to meet the needs.
Therefore, we ask that donors strongly consider giving to “where needed most”
As you give, please consider this path so that needs can be met in the moment without waiting for designated funds to be given.
